The 4th Month

Avery is now 4 (and 1/2) months old!

She is now a full on finger sucker. You can tell when she's getting sleepy because those fingers go right in her mouth.

Better Late Than Never

Avery turned 3 months old on May 23rd, and I'm just now getting around to putting up her 3 month picture. Oh, well - that's the story of my life. So, here we go. 3 months old:














I think this picture is really funny. If she could talk, what would she be saying?













This weekend we had a cookout with our small group. There was a baby pool for all the little kiddos, so Avery got to try out one of her bathing suits.


























I figured that since she LOVES bath time, and loves to splash and kick her legs in the tub, that she would also love the baby pool. Well, I held her and put her feet in the water and she SCREAMED. She was not having it. So, no pool time fun for her.

One of our friends lent us their jumper for Avery to use, so we tried it out for the first time today. She loved it! She loves to kick her legs and push off the floor, so this was great exercise for her.

Look What I Can Do!

It is amazing to me how quickly Avery is changing.  I feel like everyday I can see something new in her.  She can now hold her head really well, which allows her to sit propped up.  It's been a whole new world for her!

She rolled over for the first time, and now there is no stopping her! As soon as you put her down, she starts rolling and squirming. I have a feeling that in a couple of months we will be chasing her all over the place. This is such a fun stage and I love seeing her change every day!

Catching Up!

There's a lot to catch up on!   We went to down to Jacksonville over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate with our niece, Ashton as she graduated from high school!  Congratulations, Addy! Here's the fam together.

Avery got to meet her Aunt Josie and her cousins Ashton & Will for the first time. Oh, she loved them! She got to meet the rest of the family as well. It was so fun showing her off! She loves her family. Here she is with her Mimmy:

And I'm pretty sure the feelings are mutual :) Her Mimmy and Poppy bought her one of those play gyms for her. I think she liked it. This picture cracks me up.

It's always so hard to say goodbye at the end of our visits.  We can't wait until we can see everyone again!

My First Mother's Day!

Sunday was my first Mother's Day - as a mother :) - and it was a really fun day! It started with Philip and Avery giving me a really sweet card and present. Philip gave me this ring, which has Avery's birthstone.















My mom and friends Lorraine and Alex were visiting and we all went to church together. It was fun to have 3 generations of girls together.















We all went out for lunch after church and then Philip and I participated in one of our favorite Sunday activities - a really long nap!

That night we went out for dinner and then headed to a park for a nice walk. Avery slept through all of the festivities.



















And what better way to end the night than with a trip to Starbucks! No coffee for me, of course, but those double chocolate chip frappacinos are delicious! What a great way to celebrate my first Mother's Day!

2 Months Old!

Avery is 2 months old today! She has changed so much just in the last month. She has started sleeping through the night (yahoo!) and smiles all the time now. She makes lots of fun noises and we've had some great "conversations". She's so much fun!
